The short version

Styled in Motion (“we”, “us”) collects only what we need to run the platform: account information for creators and shoppers, anonymous analytics about how the site and app are used, and click data when you shop a tagged piece so the creator who styled the look gets credit. We do not sell your personal information. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 16.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email, first and last name, and password (stored hashed). Creators may also provide a display username, bio, profile photo, social handles, and other public profile fields.

Content you create. Looks, closet items, photos, captions, and tags you upload. Public looks are visible to other users; drafts and archived items are visible only to you.

Try-on photos (iOS app). When you use Virtual Try-On, the photo you provide is uploaded to our storage so we can render the result. You can delete your saved try-ons at any time from your profile.

Site and app analytics. We use Vercel Analytics (cookieless on the web; see Vercel's privacy notice) to count page views and aggregate the most popular looks. On the web, this only runs after you accept cookies via the banner.

Affiliate click tracking. When you tap a Shop button on a tagged piece, you are redirected to the merchant's site. The merchant or the affiliate network may set cookies on their site so the creator who styled the look gets credit for the referral. See “Affiliate networks” below for the list of networks we use and links to their privacy notices.

Affiliate networks

We participate in retailer affiliate programs to compensate creators when you purchase a piece they styled. The networks below may set cookies or use similar technologies on the merchant's site at the moment you click through. None of them place tracking on styledinmotion.studio itself.

Amazon Associates. When you click an Amazon product link, our Associates ID is stamped on the URL so Amazon attributes the referral to us. See Amazon's privacy notice.

CJ Affiliate. For merchants in the CJ network, your click is routed through CJ's tracking domain so the merchant can attribute the sale. See CJ's privacy notice. You can opt out of CJ tracking via the cookie banner on this site or by managing cookies in your browser settings.

Direct retailer programs. Some merchants run their own affiliate programs. Cookies and attribution behavior follow the merchant's privacy notice in those cases.

Cookies and your choices

On first visit to the website, you'll see a banner asking for your cookie preference. Choosing “Accept all” enables our analytics cookies and any affiliate-tracking cookies that fire when you click a Shop button. Choosing “Decline” means analytics events are dropped and affiliate cookies are not set on our properties (your click still goes to the merchant — they may set their own cookies). You can change your preference any time by clearing the sim_consent key from your browser's site storage and reloading.

How affiliate links work

When you tap a Shop button on Styled in Motion, you're taken to the merchant's website. As you browse and check out, the merchant may set cookies that let them compensate Styled in Motion (and the creator who styled the look) for the referral. This doesn't change the price you pay. Links to merchants we're paid to refer to are marked with rel="sponsored" per FTC guidance.

Children

Styled in Motion is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16, and we do not enable affiliate tracking technology on data we know to relate to a person under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. EEA, UK, and California residents may also have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively, including the right to object to processing and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile, looks, and items within 30 days, except where we're required to keep records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date above. For substantive changes that affect how we collect or use your data, we'll also notify you in-app or by email.
